Mircea Dumitrescu, the scholar of Ciprian Marica Foundation, ended 2015 on a musical note. As a laureate of the International Violin Competition “Remember Enescu”, Mircea was invited to give two recitals for violin and piano in Carei and Satu Mare, as a tribute to the memory of the famous violinist Ştefan Ruha István, born in Carei.
Although not many people know this about Mircea, every time his violin practice program allows him, the scholar is also a member of the choirs of Ioachim and Ana Saints and Iancu Vechi Churches in Bucharest. During the Christmas season he participated in several concerts of traditional Romanian carols.
In December, Mircea was also part of a humanitarian concert organized at the Romanian Athenaeum, to raise money for the young victims of the Colectiv Club fire. The scholar was onstage with members of The Romanian National Opera and the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra.
2016 is expected to be an equally intense year in terms of competitions and recitals; therefore we invite you to follow Mircea’s activity, for many surprises!
