The first day of spring brought some wonderful news: Ciprian Marica Foundation’ scholar got into Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), class of 2020. Casian’s success is all the more extraordinary as less than 10% of the applicants are accepted every year into the prestigious American university.
Casian distinguished himself as one of the most talented and promising students in one of the most competitive applicant pool in the history of the Institute, as the acceptance letter stated. With the support of Ciprian Marica Foundation, Casian participated simultaneously in two MIT programs in the summer of 2015: MIT Launch, where participants worked in teams and learnt from MIT coordinators how to launch a company and Casian and his team were awarded the “Best Overall” prize, and MIT Launch Clubs, where club members learn the entrepreneurial skill set and mindset by starting, growing, and experiencing the adversities of founding a company.
MIT, ranked the world’s top university for 2015-16 by QS Quacquarelli Symonds, leading evaluator of universities on a range of performance indicators, has produced some of the most successful individuals the world has ever seen: Kofi Annan, former secretary-general, United Nations, Benjamin Netanyahu, prime minister, Israel; and Bill Hewlett, of Hewlett-Packard, as well as over 80 Nobel Laureates.
Congratulations on the behalf of Ciprian Marica Foundation team!
